My Reason for Buy
Suzlon is a good business and well-managed company. Progress in the company's debt restructuring exercise and revival in the wind energy market, analysts feel the tide is turning for the better for Suzlon Energy from next year.
Price to Book value ratio is attractive near 1.3, when compared to IPO issue time Price
to Book value ratio at 12.
Expected to improve EPR on latest order flow and acquisitions.

  • Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd opens Capital Wind Farm:
    Suzlon celebrated the official opening of Infigen Energy’s Capital Wind Farm in Bungendore in New South Wales by Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. The 67 turbine wind farm, located just outside Australia’s capital Canberra, was delivered by Suzlon through a client-friendly turnkey contract that covered Engineering, Procurement and Construction.

  • Suzlon receives 21 MW US order
    Suzlon Wind Energy Corp., the North American subsidiary of Suzlon Energy Limited (SEL) - announced a new order for the community-based Grant County Wind Farm in southwestern Minnesota, USA. Developed by Juhl Wind (Juhl) of Woodstock, Minn., the project consists of 10 Suzlon S88 2.1 MW wind turbines and at full capacity will produce 21 megawatts, enough energy to power 7,000 homes in the area.
  • 954 megawatts for five projects in the Canadian
    Germany-based wind turbine maker REpower Systems AG, in which Suzlon Energy Limited through a subsidiary maintains 91% shareholding, announced the signing of a framework contract with EDF Energies Nouvelles and RES Canada which comprises the delivery of up to 954 megawatts for five projects in the Canadian province of Quebec, currently developed by the consortium Saint-Laurent Énergies, a Montreal based wind energy company jointly owned by EDF Energies Nouvelles Inc., RES Canada Inc. and Hydroméga Services Inc. The contract guarantees a minimum purchase capacity of 748 MW for deliveries between 2011 and 2015, and has options for an additional 206 MW - taking the total order size to 954 MW.

    Mr. Tulsi Tanti, Chairman & Managing Director, Suzlon Energy and Chairman of Supervisory Board of REpower Systems, said: "This is a historic order, one of the largest in the North American market. It underlines the REpower value proposition not just as the world leader in offshore wind technology, but onshore as well. The order lays the foundation for strong growth in the region and gives us visibility into the mid and long term."

    Per Hornung Pedersen, CEO - REpower Systems AG said after the signing: "We are delighted that we can today announce the largest onshore contract in our company’s history. The contract confirms our strategic partnership with our customers EDF EN and RES. This is a giant leap forward for REpower towards our establishment in Canada, and bolsters our intention of further growth in the whole of North America -Canada and the USA”.

Greedy at Peak, Fear at Bottom

Best advice I have ever got from my experience.


“If you go Greedy when markets are at peaks and; fear when markets are at bottom, you never make money in stock market.”

My early years of adventure with stock market was when I repeatedly saw headlines in all the daily news papers and news channels that SENSEX making new peak every day nearing 21K.

I went on to be crazy and put my hard earned salary into the market. Initially I was lucky and I made decent returns. I became more greedy and pulled all my saving and the fixed deposit money into equity market. This is when Sensex was near 21k. I was ignoring the suggestion by fund managers warning about high peaks and suspicion.

It was unprecedented move in my life; for the first time I heard of word called ‘recession’. Sensex was falling like world trade center on 9/11, on every fall I was hoping and praying that market will recover. But I was too late by that time; my net worth was down by almost 45%.

This is when I was very much frustrated and pulled all my money out of stock market and started to read more books on investments. This fall pushed me to know how to face challenges and opened doors for learning more about investment world.

I was very much impressed by the legendary investor Warren Buffett approach on how and when to buy a stock. ‘Reach Dad and Poor Dad’ by Robert Kiyosaki taught me how to manage money to be wealthy in one’s life.

Then I was very keen to know about Options which are called as weapons of mass destruction of one's financial system.

My experience taught me: Options are very attractive to make money when there is strong Bull Run or strong Bear fall. Never get into options when markets are directionless or no clear moves.

My ‘Gold’en experience was quite good, when I researched about investing in gold I felt disappointed by knowing how much I missed. I always hold at least 10% of my investment in gold. You can always buy gold or silver or palladium when those are at low and keep forever. No recession will impact gold, in fact they reward during recession*. Never forget agriculture commodities, aren’t we experiencing rise in day today food items?

At certain times people go crazy about one asset and start blowing bubble. For every bubble, there is always a needle somewhere. And when they meet, all of us learn some very old lessons. So be fearful at highs and greedy at lows to be successful in investing world.
